Mini Triangles in Crochet

Some days ago, a good friend asked me for help making a crochet triangle she wants to use for a bikini top, doll size.

I made 2 different options for her, and I wanted to share them with you in case you need small crochet triangles :3 (of course you can make them bigger if you need, following the same steps)

Of course, there are a lot more methods to make triangles, but I think in general we can divide them into 2 general:

1. Working flat method

2. Working in the round method.

Let's see how to make both of them, these are the basic patterns, you can always modify them to get bigger or smaller triangles by making more or fewer rows, as you need, following the same formulas.

METHOD No. 1 Flat triangle

Diagram / Graphic explanation

I started from the bottom up, and i alternate the place of the increases, one row at the beginning, next row at the end and so on.
If you are more of the written patterns kind, here it is: 😊

~ Ch 1
~ 2 sc in chain, turn
~ 1 sc, 1 inc, turn
~ 1 inc, 2 sc, turn
~ 3 sc, 1 inc, turn
~ 1 inc, 4 sc, turn
~ 5 sc, 1 inc, turn
~ 1 inc, 6 sc
~ And so on...

When you get the desired size, pull the yarn and weave in. This triangle is made with single crochet but it will work too with HDC, not sure about DC.

METHOD No. 1 Flat triangle

Diagram / Graphic explanation

As the tittle said, this method is working in the round so start with a Magic Ring, here the complete written instructions:

~ Magin Ring
Row 1:
~ Ch 1, (3HDC, ch2)x3, Join with sl st to the first HDC
Close the magic ring, it will form a small triangle.
Row 2:
~ Ch 1, 3 HDC, *(2 HDC, ch 2, 2 HDC)-in the chains space from the previous row*, Repeat from * 2 times more.
Join with sl st to the first HDC of the row. Pull the yarn, weave in.

If you want a bigger triangle, continue making as many rows as you need, following the same formula, 1 HDC in every HDC from the previous row, and (2 HDC, ch 2, 2 HDC) in every chains space from the previous row.

Happy stitches 🙌

Hi there

So I have been hesitating too much about starting this blog, the main reason is I fear I will not have enough time to update it often. Another thing is, I already have many spaces for this project around the web, the Esty shop, Ravelry, Instagram, TikTok, and a recently created youtube channel, .. oh... and a dead Facebook page.

But the thing is I LOVE blogging and right now, of all my projects, crocheting and knitting is the one that is inspiring me and motivating me the most... so, here I am, My name is Sandra but everyone calls me San or Sandy. I have been crocheting since I was a kid, I started when I was 7 years old, I come from a line of knitters/crocheters/dressmakers/embroiderers, so I have been close to all these crafts pretty much all my life.

I am a visual artist by career, graphic and fashion designer and I always had this passion for creating art objects, dolls, and fiber arts so I guess there is where this project is going.

I have some mental conditions as severe anxiety, depression, and memory issues that stopped me from working sometimes but I will do my best.

This are some of the dolls I designed
